Video Downloading

Video Insight

The Insight Panel reads publicly visible metadata (author name, caption, hashtags, sound, and engagement stats) from the TikTok page you are currently viewing. It may send the video URL to tikwm.com to enrich missing metadata. No cookies or account information are sent.

Local Library

Watch history, bookmarks, and download history are stored exclusively on your deviceusing Chrome's local storage. This data never leaves your browser and is not transmitted to any external server.

Permissions Requested and Justifications

Our extension requests the following Chrome permissions, each used only for its stated purpose:

• Host Permissions (*://*.tiktok.com/*) — Inject scripts to control the video player (speed, equalizer, Auto PiP, auto-pause) and customize the TikTok interface (clean mode, remove overlays).
• Host Permissions (https://tikwm.com/*) — Fetch watermark-free video download links when you request a download.
• scripting — Execute extension features directly on the active TikTok page.
• storage — Save your personal settings (playback speed, EQ presets, blocked keywords) on your device only.
• downloads — Trigger Chrome's built-in download manager to save videos and audio files.
• tabs — Detect whether the active tab is TikTok and check if another tab is playing audio for the Auto Pause feature.
• alarms — Keep the background service worker alive and run periodic Auto Scroll checks.

Analytics and Tracking

Third-Party Services

This extension interacts with the following third-party service:

• tikwm.com— Used solely for fetching video download links and enriching video metadata. We have no control over tikwm.com's privacy practices. Please review their privacy policy at tikwm.com.

Our extension does not share any user data with social media platforms, advertisers, or data brokers.

Data Security

Since we do not collect or store any user data on external servers, there is no server-side database that could be compromised. All data (settings, watch history, bookmarks) resides in your browser's local storage and is protected by your device's security controls.

Children's Privacy

Our extension is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.
